ABOUT
HESSLER
Hessler Associates, Inc. was founded in 1976 to provide consultation in
engineering acoustics, principally for the power and industrial facilities
industries. The firm has completed countless environmental noise assessments
and acoustical design for new and existing facilities located all over the
world ranging from 1000 kW diesel gen-sets up to 1700 MW combustion turbine
combined and open cycle plants, nuclear power plants and renewable energy
including wind and land fill gas to energy. Acoustic plant designs range
from standard baseline silencing equipment to ultra-low noise designs for
sensitive areas. The firm routinely provides ambient sound surveys, impact
analysis and computer modeling of
facilities, as well as problem
solutions such as the control of low frequency infrasound from open
cycle combustion turbine plants.
The firm employs the services of three professionals and very dedicated staff; George F. Hessler, P.E., Bd. Cert. INCE (The Johns Hopkins University), David M. Hessler, P.E. (The Universities of Hartford and Maryland) and Mark M. Hessler (George Washington University).

Prior
to forming Hessler Associates, George Hessler acquired years of experience
designing noise abatement systems for a leading silencing systems manufacturer,
and later became the Chief Structural and Acoustics Engineer for Turbo Power
and Marine Systems, Pratt & Whitney’s industrial supplier of aero-derivative
gas turbines. David Hessler is the principal designer of major combustion
turbine and fossil fueled plant facilities for General Electric, Bechtel,
Calpine and other leading firms, and has visited and tested installations
throughout the world. David is also actively engaged in over 40 large wind
turbine and other renewable energy projects in the U.S. Mark Hessler is
an expert at computer modeling of power plants and other facilities including
waste gas facilities, landfills and quarries. Samples of Mark’s work are
available under the Modeling Tab.
