| Noise Control for Petrochemical Facilities |
Hessler Associates provides acoustical analysis, design and noise control services for new or existing
oil refineries and petrochemical facilities. Noise from proposed future installations or expansions can be
analytically modeled to evaluate any potential environmental impacts from the project and to determine
what noise mitigation measures might have to be incorporated into the facility.
|
|
Typical noise sources include:
» Fluidized catalytic crackers
» Sulfur recovery systems
» Flares
» Blowers
» Refinery turnarounds
» Vacuum distillation systems
» Valve and piping systems
» Auxiliary boilers
» Fin fan coolers and radiators
» Pumps
» Furnaces
|
|
Other services include complete acoustical mapping of operating facilities to document current in-plant
noise levels. Noise mapping identifies high noise areas where ear protection or limited exposure times
may be required by OSHA (for domestic sites) or the pertinent regulatory body for overseas facilities.
In addition, the comprehensive site survey involved in mapping highlights areas where noise mitigation
would produce the greatest benefit.
